Protect Lambeth Palace Conservation Area |
To: The Planning Inspectorate and the Secretary of State for Communities and Local GovernmentWe oppose the current proposals to develop the land around Royal Street SE1. In an area which is experiencing rapid development, it is important to achieve the right balance between conservation and development and to preserve the quality and attractiveness of Archbishop's Park. We believe it is possible to develop proposals which would respect both the aims and the purpose of the Lambeth Palace Conservation Area and the boundaries of this historic park.
The current proposals would have an adverse impact on the trees that form the northern boundary of Archbishop's Park and that make an important contribution to the setting and appeal of the park. We urge that the rejection of these proposals by the Lambeth Council Planning Committe is upheld.
Sincerely,
