Change Name of Canada's NEW Government

To:  THE GOVERNMENT OF CANADA

WHEREAS the Government of Canada was formed by an act of the British Parliament in 1867 and, therefore, the Government of Canada is one hundred and forty years old;

AND WHEREAS the Conservative Party of Canada was elected to form the Government of Canada on January 23, 2006 and did form the Government of Canada on February 6, 2006;

AND WHEREAS, immediately upon forming the Government of Canada, the Conservative Party of Canada commenced referring to the Government of Canada and itself, interchangeably, as "Canada's New Government" on official government documents, press releases, websites, and so on;

AND WHEREAS it has been almost one year and one half year since the Conservative Party of Canada formed the Government of Canada, and yet the Conservative Party of Canada continues to insist upon referring to itself as "Canada's New Government";

AND WHEREAS the definition of new (nû, nyû) adj. includes: 1. Having been made or come into being only a short time ago; recent: a new law. 2. Still fresh: a new coat of paint. 3. Never used or worn before now: a new car; a new hat. 4. Just found, discovered, or learned;

AND WHEREAS, due to all of the foregoing reasons and to basic common everyday sense and common understanding of the meaning of the word "new", it is petty, partisan, asinine, childish, juvenile and silly (not to mention completely embarrassing for all of us) for the Conservative Party of Canada to continue referring to the Government of Canada and to itself, interchangeably, as "Canada's New Government";

NOW THEREFORE, we the undersigned petitioners, in good faith and passionate patriotic fervour, and with all the due respect the Conservative Party of Canada so richly deserves, do humbly demand that the Conservative Party of Canada:

1) immediately cease referring to itself as "Canada's New Government";

2) immedieatly cease referring to the Government of Canada as "Canada's New Government"; and

2) immediately commence referring to itself as "Canada's New-ish-like Government."
