The Petition was presented to City Council, they indicated the decision rests with Director Godwin. Director Godwin has indicated in email that he has made his decision, and will not reconsider.

We the undersigned STRONGLY encourage the Memphis City Council to re-think it's decision to cancel filming of "The First 48" in Memphis.

At a time when Memphis needs all the positive images it can get, this how demonstrated the best our police department has to offer.

This show portrayed the dedication, hard work, and professionalism the men and women of Memphis Homicide display every day, in bringing closure to the famalies of these victim's famalies.

It was awesome to see a unit with such a high closure rate, that it received national recognition, and showed that Memphis does something to combat this serious crime.
