To:  Prime Minister of Canada

Dear Prime Minister,

Your senior aides have been going on television claiming that parents, like us, would spend their childcare money on beer or popcorn. Frankly, we are offended.

Maybe your aides don’t have children of their own, but most Canadians know this:

No good parent, not a single one, in this country would spend money designated for child care, and given to them for that reason, on beer or popcorn. It is disgraceful to suggest otherwise.

As parents, we resent being insulted so your party can score some cheap political points. We are asking you, Mr. Prime Minister:

Do you agree with your aides and believe that parents would choose beer over their kids?

If not, why would allow your aides to go on national television and insult millions of parents?

We think it’s time that you and your aides started respecting Canadian parents more.
