Reinstate the UK Home Computing Initiative

To:  Gordon Brown

We the UK HCI Community request that Gordon Brown, Chancellor of the Exchequer reinstate the Home Computing Initiative (HCI) tax exemption with immediate effect.

There are millions of tax payers in the UK for whom HCI is the only method to affordably access home computing equipment to educate themselves and their children. Most have not had the chance to participate yet.

There are thousands of people working in the HCI community who have supported this Government initiative and who now find themselves facing unemployment and a highly uncertain future.

HCI is good for the UK and for individuals, please reverse your decision immediately.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned
