Free The Fossella Five

To:  Congressman Vito Fossella

Dear Vito Fossella, Representative, 13th Congressional District,

We are outraged that your office, apparently acting on your instructions, ordered the New York City Police Department to arrest five of your constituents when they attempted to meet with you to discuss your positions on the war in Iraq. Our tax dollars pay for your office and your staff. Arresting your constituents when they were performing their civic duty subverts the democratic process and the constitution of the United States of America.

In the interest of free speech, we demand that you drop ALL charges
against Elaine Brower, Thomas Good, Sally Jones, Ben Maurer and Barbara Walker, and that you instruct your office to immediately schedule a meeting with Peace Action Staten Island.

It is unconscionable that you will meet with representatives of Halliburton, because this company was a major contributor to your election campaign, but order your constituents arrested when they come to your office to air their grievances with the extreme positions you have taken on the Iraq War.

Drop all charges against the "Fossella Five" and give them the meeting they have requested.
