To:  Cupertino Union School District (CUSD)

We, the undersigned, recognize that the Cupertino Union School District (CUSD) is being faced with unique pressures due to the recent budget cuts. However, extending the timeline for negotiations with the Cupertino Education Association (CEA) is not the right solution. A lack of resolution threatens the quality of education and the environment needed for our schools to thrive. We urge CUSD to negotiate with the CEA in a fair and timely manner.

• Retain our teachers through equitable compensation.
Support our schools. Our children need experienced teachers.
• Fair negotiations with CUSD teachers.
Cost of Living Adjustments (COLA) needs to be addressed for our teachers.
2007-2008 has seen several economic crises – looming recession, mortgage meltdown, unprecedented gas prices, 24\% increase in food prices.
