Dear fellow musicians,

Here is the situation in which one of our colleagues finds herself: she has been working for an orchestra as a pianist. Her job consisted in playing in the orchestra, giving solo recitals and chamber music concerts with the other orchestral members.

Following a change in the management she was dismissed in July 2005 along with the other affiliated pianists, but in September 2005 was reinstated after a judge ruled that the dismissal was illegal. On the 23rd September she received a work schedule listing the different programs she had to play as a recitalist, (shown below), the first of which had to be played on the 26th September.

If you think, like me, that to ask a musician to: a) give solo concerts with such short notice and b) imposing programs when the piano repertoire is so vast, is unreasonable and demonstrates either musical incompetence or wilful behaviour, please sign this petition and forward it to other musicians.

Chers collègues musiciens ,
Voici la situation dans laquelle se retrouve une de nos collègues pianiste .
Travaillant pour un orchestre depuis plusieurs années, ses tâches consistaient à jouer au sein de l’orchestre , en récitals ainsi qu’en diverses formations de musique de chambre .
Suite à un changement de direction celle ci a été licenciée en juillet 2005 ainsi que deux autres pianistes .
Après une action en justice , le juge a ordonné sa réintégration dans l’orchestre en septembre 2005 .
Voici le programme que lui a imposé la direction le 23 septembre 2005 pour le 26 septembre 2005 ainsi que les programmes des semaines suivantes (voir dates ci jointes) .
Si vous pensez vous aussi que d’exiger d’un musicien a) de donner un récital avec aussi peu de temps de préparation b) d’imposer des programmes (le répertoire du piano étant si vaste) est totalement irréaliste et révèle soit, une incompétence musicale flagrante , soit une volonté de nuire , veuillez signer au bas de cette page et faire suivre cette pétition à vos collègues musiciens .
