Long Beach Sex Offender Petition

To:  Members of the Long Beach City Council

We, the undersigned, support Councilmen Hennessy and Sofield's Sex Offender Initiative. This initiative would make it illegal for registered sex offenders to live within 1000 feet of schools, parks, playgrounds, bus stops, and businesses whose primary customers are children within the City of Long Beach. Additionally, this initiative would allow residents of the City of Long Beach to be notified by email that a sex offender has moved into the City of Long Beach. I support this initiative and I urge the City Council to immediately pass legislation that would make this initiative law.
