Save The Kenwood Concerts

Thank you very much for signing the petition calling for the return of the Kenwood Concerts. The petition will be presented to the Leader of Camden Council and we hope to be working closely with the Council over the next few months in order to find a way of bringing the concerts back to Kenwood in 2008. We will keep you updated on our progress and if all goes well we plan to submit a new planning application for the concerts in the autumn of 2007. If the application is successful we would be able to restore the picnic concerts to Kenwood in 2008. For more details see www.english-heritage.org.uk.

We the undersigned object to the fact that the concerts at Kenwood House in Hampstead have been cancelled this year because of the licence conditions imposed by Camden Council in 2006. For 55 years the concerts have given huge pleasure to hundreds of thousands of people and are an important part of Camden’s cultural tradition. A small number of local objectors have spoiled this enjoyment. The concerts also provide much needed income to run Kenwood House. We urge Camden Council to review the licence conditions and work with English Heritage and all other interested parties so that the concerts can return to Kenwood in 2008.
