Ask the South Carolina Aquarium to Fire Dr. Sheridan!

Update: On May 4, 2007, local station WCBD ran a story announcing that Dr. Sheridan had RESIGNED his position at the South Carolina Aquarium. Dr. SHERIDAN IS NO LONGER working for the SC Aquarium! Thanks to all who signed this petition. You my continue to sign as an expression of your views, however, the urgent need has passed. Readers are reminded that yet an additional complaint has been filed against Dr. Sheridan by the State Veterinary Board over his care of a patient. Dr. Sheridan continues to run a private practice.

To:  The South Carolina Aquarium

We, the undersigned, call upon the South Carolina Aquarium, to dismiss consulting veterinarian, Thomas Sheridan. Dr. Thomas Sheridan was found by the State Board of Veterinary Examiners to have used excessive force in handling his patients. Based on this, as well as other accounts of Dr. Sheridan's questionable and potentially dangerous behavior with animals, we strongly feel that the animals of the South Carolina aquarium deserve better than Dr. Sheridan. We fear for the safety of the animals in his care, and beseech you to dismiss him from your staff.
